Mike Madrigal was a man full of life and excitement. Even though he had been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, he never let that slow him down. While having a routine procedure on his gallbladder, things went wrong, ultimately leading to him being on the transplant list for a new liver in November of 2011. For 3 long, hopeful weeks, we waited for a call that would never happen. Mike, the ultimate optimist, never had a chance at receiving his life saving organ. It has become a passion for his family to raise organ donation awareness so that no one else has to feel the pain and torment of waiting and not receiving an organ. Every ten minutes, someone is added to the national transplant waiting list. On average, 20 people die each day while waiting for a transplant. One organ donor can save eight lives. Sign up to be an organ donor, sign up to represent Team Madrigal, and donate to our cause so we can save lives in Mike's name.
