Forever Scott's Mom
Thank you for visiting my personal page and helping me to support the Donate Life Run/Walk benefitting the OneLegacy Foundation. I will be walking in memory of my son, Scott Hultman, on April 24, 2021. Scott died November 19,2020. I am raising money to the organization that made possible Scott's gift of donated organs to four recipients. Here's my story...
"We're sorry. Your son will not recover." Three months ago our world crumbled, as a team of doctors gave his sister and me the devastating news. Just hours earlielr, Alison and I learned of Scott's attempted suicide. He was on life support, with no chance of recovery, and we knew the decision Scott would want us to make...
The next sentence came as a beautiful surprise. In the most horrific of moments I felt a glimmer of hope that Scott, my kind, funny, always smiling son had one last gift to share. "Scott is a registered organ donor."
Knowing Scott gave the gift of life brings such comfort. Recently I learned who the recipients were...
- “Scott’s liver was transplanted into a man in his 40s in California. He is married, is the father of two and enjoys spending time with his family. We are told he is recovering well.
- Another California man in his 40s is the recipient of Scott’s right kidney. He is married and also the father of two. The transplant center tells us his kidney function is good and he is very grateful for this second chance at life.
- The recipient of Scott’s left kidney is a California man in his 50s. He is married with two children. We are told his kidney is functioning well and he is very thankful for this transplant.
- Scott’s heart was transplanted into another man in his 50s. The transplant took place in California. With this gift of life, everyone is hopeful he will return to good health.”
